Birthday #47....
June 14, 2018
“Birthdays are good for you. Statistics show that the people who have the most, live the longest.” - unknown
Another year older. Wiser? I can’t say, but yes, older.
Having a birthday smack in the middle of the year seems very fitting for my personality. I like the middle. June 15th suites me.
When I was younger, I loved that flag day was the day before. It ushered me into the next year. Flags waving. It was kinda a let down down that there were no flags on my actual birthday though!!!!
I share my birthday with many important historians. Erik Erikson, American developmental psychologist and psychoanalyst was born June 15. He was the guy who coined the phrase “identity crisis”. I also share the day with Mario Cuomo, the democratic governor of New York from 1983-1985. James Belushi, Julie Hagerty, Brett Butler, Courteney Cox, Ice Cube, Leah Remini and Neil Patrick Harris were all also born on June 15. My step father, Austin Wilde and I shared the same birthday too, may he Rest In Peace.
Some really great things that happened on June 15... in 1667 Dr. Jean-Baptiste Deny performed the first successful human blood transfusion. June 15, 1808 Joseph Bonaparte became the king of Spain.
June 15, 1851 Jacob Fussell, a Baltimore dairyman, set up the first ice cream factory.
June 15, 1940 World War 2, France surrendered to NAZI Germany.
June 15, 1989 I graduated from Saratoga high school. Big things people! Huge historical things!
So I’m going to make my birthday wish as I blow out 47 candles! I wish for a historical year of peace. One of happiness and love.
